Clippy

Alternatively referred to as the Paperclip or the Office Assistant, Clippy is the Microsoft paperclip animation first included with Microsoft Office 95 that helps a user with different tasks. On April 11, 2001, Microsoft announced that it would remove Clippy from future releases of Microsoft Office; however, after the release of Office XP, it was found that Clippy (Office Assistant) was still present, just not installed by default. The picture is an example of what the Office Assistant looked like in Microsoft Office 2000.
